The jazz jam session in the Back Room at Marian's, in its current form, was started on February 13, 2020.  At the time, the bar was known as the Wilky.  Once business resumed after the Covid shut down, the bar was renamed Marian's.  On most Thursday nights, you can join saxophonist Matt La Von (host) and well as drummer Ben Freidkin and a rotating cast of local New York City talent in the house band as they are joined by musicians from all over the New York City area, other parts of the United States, and other parts of the world who travel through to sit in during the jazz jam session portion of the night, which follows a short house band set at around 8:30pm, and lasts until about 11:30 PM.
